In partnership with the National Scout Organization of Costa Rica, the World Scout Bureau organized for the first time the Scouts of the World Interamerican Seminar on 9-11 July 2009 at the “Campo Escuela Nacional Iztaru” in Costa Rica. The aim of the seminar was to share with National Scout Organizations the technical and educational process of developing the Scouts of the World Award as a way of revitalizing the Rover Scout Section. Countries represented were Argentina, Aruba, Belice, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela for a total of 33 participants.
